Job summary

Enidchamber Recreation seeks a Recreation Assistant in the Outdoor Rec Program to connect Airmen, families, and guests with engaging, safe outdoor experiences.

You will test equipment for safety, demonstrate conservation techniques, set up facilities for events, inspect facilities, and schedule use of campsites and boats. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Tests water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation
• Demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water sports area, firing ranges, and hunting areas
• Demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating
• Sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities
• Inspects outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions
• Schedules campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use, with responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or returned in good order

Types of duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Tests water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation
• demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water sports area, firing ranges, and hunting areas
• demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating
• sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities (i.e., are not simply manual labor assignments)
• inspects outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions
• schedules campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use, with responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or returned in good order

Performs other related duties as assigned.
