The City of Houston's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to support the Recreation & Wellness - Athletics/Sports section. You will coordinate activities at recreation centers, supervise youth programs, and enforce center rules to ensure safe, engaging experiences.
Responsibilities include daily facility inspections, assisting with events, and occasional opening/closing duties.

To achieve this mission, HPARD is seeking a Recreation Assistant to join its Recreation & Wellness - Athletics/Sports Section. The potential candidate will play a key role in the following duties:
The position occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional very light lifting, such as three or four reams of papers or books (up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight) may be required. There are routine discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions. The position may involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions.
Requires a high school diploma or a GED.
Three (3) months of related experience are required.
May require a valid driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2).
The selection process will involve application review and/or interview.
