Job summary

NAVSTA Great Lakes is seeking personnel to support the Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Program. Duties will include assisting with events, managing recreation activities, providing information to customers, and handling records and reports.

Candidates should have strong customer service and organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and knowledge of leisure time activities. The role may involve various program locations and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Combination of experience related to customer service and recreation activity.
• Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities.
• Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of the goals, principles, techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning and conducting leisure time activities.
• Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and the entire scope of Community Recreation activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages and interests.
• Knowledge of the functions, procedures, and operations of recreation activities.

All positions assigned to the NAF Fleet and Family Readiness Programs, NAVSTA Great Lakes. Will perform a variety of duties to support the MWR Program; either at The Liberty Program . Duties will vary based on the location assigned, but may include assistance with special events, programs, resale/retail operations, providing recreational services, information and resources, collecting fees, facility opening/closing, etc. Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. A qualified candidate possess the following:
