Job summary

ManhattanView Rehab is seeking an Activities Aide to help plan and execute resident recreation programs. The role involves promoting social engagement, organizing groups, and assisting with reports on participant progress.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and regulatory certification; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. The position offers full-time, part-time or per diem schedules with benefits and growth opportunities in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Effective communicator with good verbal/written skills.
• Well-developed organizational abilities.
• Some craft ability or knowledge.
• Record keeping and documentation as needed.
• Positive interaction with staff, residents and families.
• Annual TB skin test verification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and promoting recreation based on resident interests.
• Encourage social interaction through group activities.
• Provide sensory training, orientation and re-socialization activities.
• Assist residents with participation in religious programs.
• Support leisure recreation activities.
• Visit bed-ridden residents and provide recreation services.
• Maintain recreation calendars and newsletters.
• Document attendance and participation; update progress notes if applicable.
• Attend in-service trainings.
• Assist with supplies management and storage.
• Perform tasks as directed by the Recreation Director.
• Assist with volunteering programs and appreciation events.
• Transport residents to and from programs.
• Assist with admission assessments, care planning and progress notes.
• Support resident council activities and outcomes.
• Facilitate community interaction programs.
• Ensure high-quality service in a compassionate atmosphere.
