Job description

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Lakehurst Fitness Facility, Lakehurst, NJ.

Duties

  1. Performs a variety of duties supporting the daily operation of the JB-MDL Fitness Center, including serving as a desk attendant to ensure only authorized patrons use the facility and equipment, and adhere to policies.
  2. Greets visitors, answers phones, makes reservations, and provides information on scheduled events and classes.
  3. Assists the Fitness Director with administrative duties and daily tasks.
  4. Provides instruction to patrons on the proper use of fitness equipment and teaches fitness/aerobic classes with proper certifications.
  5. Inspects equipment and facilities according to Air Force standards, reports damages, and initiates repairs.
  6. Oversees contractors providing services in the Fitness Center and reports findings to the Fitness Director.
  7. Performs opening and closing procedures in accordance with Air Force guidelines.
  8. Maintains and prepares facilities, grounds, and equipment for daily use and special functions.
  9. Supervises and coordinates activities of other employees as needed.
  10. Assists in advertising and recruiting for intramural teams, tournaments, and fitness classes, and may serve as a tournament director or fitness coordinator.
  11. Ensures proper scheduling, setup, and regulation compliance during activities.
  12. Supports marketing efforts, provides data, and researches items for special functions, including seeking sponsorships.
  13. Prepares invoices and completes documentation for financial transactions.
  14. Conducts inventory, recommends equipment purchases, and liaises with industry professionals for procurement.

    Requirements

  • Successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certifications or obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Successful pre-employment physical examination.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance.
