Job summary

Army NAF on Oahu is seeking an assistant to support the Facilities Operations Team Leader. The role requires lifting, shift work including nights and weekends, and operating facility security measures.

The candidate will manage equipment, collect fees, and help maintain and clean facilities, ensuring safety and compliance with pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties described above.
  • Must have and retain a valid state driver’s license.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Requires rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Subject of satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks per AR 215-3, para 2, Tier 1 background investigation.

  • Opens/closes facilities and ensures security systems are operable.
  • Issues/receives recreational equipment and handles related fees and deposits.
  • Pre-checks and prepares equipment for customers; monitors usage and reports issues.
  • Cleans and maintains recreation equipment and facility areas.

  • Job may require work in various facilities depending on requirements as determined by customer demand or programmed activities. Opens and/or closes facilities by locking/unlocking doors and windows and assuring security system is operable.
  • Issues/receives recreational equipment to authorized users. Collects applicable fees for items issued, accounts for monies collected safeguards funds and makes daily bank deposits.
  • Pre-checks, prepares equipment for customers, explains use, monitors proper usage. Conducts surveillance of total facility and reports any unusual findings to supervisor.
  • Cleans recreation equipment, supplies and facility area. Operates equipment and performs self-help maintenance on facilities and equipment.

Requirements

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • This job requires the ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Selected applicant must be able to pass a Medical Physical Examination.
  • Requires rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Subject of satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para 2. to include a Tier 1 background investigation.

Area of Consideration
  • This job is open to candidates who is LOCAL, Island of Oahu. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)
This is a Standing Register with first cut-off date of September 3, 2026. Applicants will be referred to selecting officials on various cut-off periods until filled.
PCS Costs
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
