Job summary

Navylifema seeks a Recreation Assistant to support the MWR Community Recreation program and CNIC initiatives in Virginia Beach. You will help coordinate events, provide information/resources, and assist with trips, tours, and outings, as well as rental equipment and entertainment activities.

The role requires strong customer service, the ability to work independently, and effective oral and written communication. Knowledge of Navy MWR goals and recreation operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Combination of experience related to customer service and recreation activity based functions.
• Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities.
• Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Knowledge of goals, principles and procedures used in organizing leisure time activities.
• Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and Community Recreation activities.
• Knowledge of the functions, procedures, and operations of recreation activities.
• Must have strong customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain records, compile data for reports, and research recreation topics.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of computers, office procedures and print production.

Responsibilities

Job description

This position is assigned to the Recreation Division; Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). Performs a variety of duties in support of the MWR Community Recreation program that may include special events, recreation information/resources, command events, community events, trips, tours, outings, party and picnic rental equipment, resale tickets, recreational green space management, bowling, Library, Liberty, grab-n-go, movies, and outdoor recreation.

A qualified candidate must possess:
