Description
This position provides candidates with an interest in aquatics, recreation, parks, or related fields, an introductory experience into the administration and implementation of aquatics, recreation, and parks.
The goal of this position is to assist the Facility Coordinators in supervising the aquatics staff/programs, as well as learning the basic functions of recreation/aquatic facilities. There will be many other opportunities to gain insight into the daily functions of the facility.
Pay Rate: Minimum wage to $15 per hour, commensurate with employee’s experience.
Requirements
Candidates will have the opportunity to assist with the supervision, planning, and management of the day-to-day operation of the Splash Zone; assist with the development and revision of training methods for lifeguards, including aquatic procedures and in-service trainings; learn pool chemistry and safety around aquatic facilities; provide direct oversight of the outdoor pool; assist in programming efforts relating to the facility; perform facility checks as they relate to aquatics; gain a better understanding and help lead recreation/aquatic programming including youth and adult team sports/tournaments; and other projects and tasks as assigned. Must be able to work nights and weekends.
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. New employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. Lorain County Metropolitan Park District policy prohibits hiring new employees who are tobacco users.
