Job summary

Air Mobility Command, based at Little Rock AFB, AR, is seeking personnel for the Skills Development Center/Auto Skills. The role guarantees a minimum of 20 hours per week and involves operating a range of workshop equipment and handling cash transactions.

Responsibilities include assisting with the Skills Development Program, providing demonstrations and guidance on crafts as needed, maintaining safety and security of merchandise and funds, and supporting customers with special orders.

• Operates a variety of equipment in the area, including computerized engravers, copiers, lettering machines, heat presses, air brushes, mat cutters, choppers, hand tools, scroll saw and band saw.
• Responsible for operating the cash register, collects money, makes change and issues receipts.
• Closes out the cash register at end of shift, completes required paperwork, submits package to supervisor.
• Assists customers with special orders and maintains security of merchandise, equipment and funds.
• Provides customer service, answers telephone, and assists shop users with craft skill development and procedures.
• With guidance from the supervisor, provides demonstrations and guidance on crafts as needed.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work area. May work irregular shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Subject to hazards such as splinters, fumes, cuts, burns and bruises.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Operates a variety of equipment in assigned area, to include computerized engravers, copiers, lettering machines, heat presses, air brushes, mat cutters, choppers, hand power tools, scroll saw, and band saw. Responsible for operating the cash register, collects money, makes change and issues receipts.

At the end of each shift, closes out the cash register, completes required paperwork and submits entire package to supervisor. Assists customers in placing special orders. Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment and funds assigned. Provides customer service, answers telephone and assists shop users with craft skill development and work procedures. With guidance from the supervisor, provides demonstrations and guidance on crafts, as programming needs dictate.

Maintains clean, neat, and safe work area. May work an irregular tour of duty to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires continuous standing, walking and stooping. Subject to metal and wood splinters, adhesives, paint fumes, cuts, burns and bruises. Performs other related duties as assigned.
