Management & Training Corporation (MTC) seeks a recreation staff member for the Inland Empire Job Corps Center in San Bernardino, CA. You will supervise and direct students in center-sponsored recreational activities, ensuring safety and alignment with government and center directives.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a lifeguard certificate, CPR within 30 days, and experience with youth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year recreation experience or verified voluntary experience.
• Lifeguard Certificate required, and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
• Experience with youth; excellent written and verbal communications; computer proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervisor, recreation in planning, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive program.
• Organize and supervise student participation in a variety of recreation activities.
• Conduct and coordinate recreation activities.
• Chaperone students to center recreation functions.
• Assist with transporting students and staff to activities and events.
• Operate and maintain music systems and equipment.
• Conduct activities for career preparation students.
• Collaborate with other departments to offer diverse activities.
• Conduct PE classes.
• Support student employability programs and CDSS activities.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area; provide quality customer service.
