Job summary

North Westchester Restorative Therapy is urgently seeking a Per Diem Recreation Aide to engage residents in dynamic activities and events.

Ideal candidates are upbeat, energetic, reliable team players with creativity in arts, music or readings; strong listening and communication skills; and a willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays. A high school diploma is preferred; two years of geriatric recreation experience is welcome, with the ability to walk, stand and lift as needed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• More education or experience with nursing homes, rehabilitation, recreation activities, event planning may be preferred.
• Physical fitness to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
• Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent resource management and record-keeping.
• Patience and compassion when dealing with residents, especially those who are sick or elderly.
• Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Plan and supervise recreation activities and special events for residents.
• Create engaging programs to involve residents and keep them excited.

• Creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc

• Interest and experience in Music are a plus!

Preferred two years\' experience in recreation in a geriatric setting, ability to work effectively as a team member

Requirements:

• A high school diploma and certain certifications may be required.
• More education or experience with nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, recreational activities, event planning, or related may be preferred.
• Physical fitness\'s, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
• Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.

• Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Per diem

Salary: $21.66 per hour

Schedule: M-F 9-5, Weekends as needed
