Job summary

The City of Plano is seeking Recreation Aides to be the friendly, helpful first touch for visitors at our Parks and Recreation facilities. You will assist patrons, facilitate open play activities, and help with classes and rentals while delivering excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates bring strong communication, phone, and typing skills; no prior experience is required. Training and certifications are provided at no cost, with a supportive, team-focused work culture in a great city

Our Recreation Aides are the front line of our facilities. They are the first contact for our patrons and set the tone for their experience. Qualities we are looking for include above and beyond customer service, professionalism, knowledge of the City of Plano, excellent phone skills, outstanding communication skills, and accurate typing and computer skills. Employees must also have the ability to set up and take down open play activities, move rooms for scheduled classes and rentals, organizational skills, attention to detail, strong cleaning abilities, and greeting each patron with a welcoming smile as they enter and exit the facility. Employees may also be asked to provide assistance in the Gazebo Café as well as help facilitate group trips.

Shifts

Shifts can include Monday – Friday: 12:15pm – 8:15pm, 1:15pm – 9:15pm, 2:15pm – 10:15pm and Saturdays 7:45am – 2:15pm or 1:15pm – 6:15pm.

This position can require driving a 15 passenger van for senior tripes. Must possess a valid drivers license.
