Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions, TX, seeks an Activity/Recreation Coordinator to support Job Corps youth programs. You will plan and promote leisure activities, promote community service involvement, and ensure safe transport and resources for events.

Role focuses on clear communication with partners, accountability of staff and students, and strict adherence to safety procedures. A valid driver's license and youth-facing experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one year of related experience working with youth.
• A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and promoting all activities so students can make choices as to how to use leisure time.
• Promote and engage student participation in Community Service.
• Ensure safe transport of students occurs timely.
• Assist in ensuring events are available; ensure adequate equipment, supplies, or other resources for successful events.
• Maintain active communication with community and governmental sources including Fine Arts, Theater, Choral, Drama, Sports, Education and Training, Community Colleges, and volunteer organizations; contacts reported weekly.
• Ensure receipts/unused funds are returned to account and fully account for amount received.
• Account for monetary expenditures by submitting necessary student excursion sheets, appropriate receipts, and unused funds.
• Assist in ensuring programs stay within funding limits.
• Enforce all procedures regarding property/equipment.
• Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
• Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
• Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
• Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
• Attends all required staff training opportunities.
