Job summary

The Borough of Pompton Lakes is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Aide to support the Recreation Director with a variety of recreational programs and events year‑round. Flexible hours are available, typically ranging from 5 to 25 hours per month and vary with seasonal programming and departmental needs.

Responsibilities include assisting with programs and events, helping with setup and teardown and equipment storage, staffing information tables for Pompton Day, distributing promotional materials

Qualifications

• Experience in recreation or athletics and youth supervision preferred.
• Experience in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or event coordination is beneficial.
• Flexible, able to work 5–25 hours per month.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Recreation Department programs and events.
• Help with event setup, breakdown, and equipment storage.
• Staff Pompton Day information tables.
• Distribute promotional materials for the Recreation Department.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Borough of Pompton Lakes is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Recreation Aide to assist the Recreation Director with a variety of recreational programs, events, and operational activities throughout the year. This is a year-round, part-time position with flexible hours that vary based on seasonal programming and departmental needs, which could range from 5 to 25 hours per month. Responsibilities include attending and assisting with Recreation Department programs and events; helping with event setup, breakdown, and equipment storage; assisting with Pompton Day, including staffing information tables; distributing promotional and informational materials on behalf of the Recreation Department; and performing other related duties as assigned. Applicants should possess previous experience in recreation or athletics, youth supervision, teaching, tutoring, coaching, facility or building supervision, special event coordination, or other related experience. The hourly rate for this position is $16.32 per hour.
