Job summary

Far Rockaway Center in Far Rockaway, NY is seeking energetic Recreation Aides for both part-time and full-time positions in a 100-bed rehab and skilled nursing facility. You will implement activity programs, work directly with residents, and assist with program setup and documentation.

Candidates should have healthcare/activity-related experience, geriatric exposure, and strong computer skills, with the ability to multitask and collaborate in a team. Weekend availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with activities in healthcare settings preferred.
• Previous geriatric population experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Implement activities programs for Residents focused on individual interests.
• Work directly with Residents on units without direct supervision.
• Organize supplies and equipment as requested.

• Maintain daily attendance and document participation.
• Assist residents to program location and back to appropriate units.
• Be familiar with established emergency procedures.

Far Rockaway Center is seeking energetic & passionate Part-Time and Full-Time Recreation Aides for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Far Rockaway, NY.

DUTIES

• Implement activities programs for Residents; focus on individual interests
• Work directly with Residents on units; without direct supervision
• Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested
• Assist recreation specialists & set up program areas as needed
• Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities
• Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units
• Be familiar with established emergency procedures

REQUIREMENTS

• Positive attitude and energy is a must!
• Experience with activities in a healthcare settings or college work in recreation therapy
• Previous experience with Geriatric population preferred
• Strong computer skills necessary
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Strong organizational & planning skills; ability to multi-task
• Some weekends required
• Dementia experience preferred
