Job summary

The Pines at Medford is seeking a Recreation Aide to plan and execute engaging activities for residents in a warm, supportive setting. You will help foster social interaction, document progress, and participate in care plan meetings while coordinating both individual and group recreation programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be computer-literate with Word, Outlook and basic software skills.
• Experience with elderly and dementia-care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and executing recreational activities based on the needs and interests of the residents.
• Encourages social interaction and communication between the residents through group recreation, and community interaction programs.
• Facilitates recreational programs on an individual and group basis.
• Provides individual intervention to residents based on personal needs and conditions.
• Records resident attendance and participation level at recreation programs, writes progress notes, and attends care plan meetings as necessary.
• Assists in the upkeep, storage, and organization of the recreation department supplies.
• Assists with admission assessments, MDS, care plans and progress notes.
• Ensures that residents receive the highest quality of service in a warm and caring environment which recognizes the individuals' needs and capabilities.
• Performs other related job duties as required.
