Job summary

Serenity Spring Senior Living at Arlington is seeking a dynamic and caring individual for a Part Time weekend position within the Activities Department. Experience is a plus. Individual must be willing to work every other weekend / holiday.

This position requires tact, sensitivity and professionalism due to constant interaction with residents and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year experience in pediatrics and/or geriatrics recreation.
• Be able to facilitate group programs independently.
• Positive attitude and energy.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written/reading skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with Alzheimer's/Dementia care residents and their families.
• Develop approaches/interventions to meet the psychosocial needs of residents.
• Collaborate with Activity Director to develop and run programming ideas for residents.
• Demonstrate knowledge and experience with residents having dementia and appropriate therapeutic/behavioral interventions.
• Must be able to work with a team.
• Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Must have a positive attitude, enthusiasm, creativity, patience and energy.
