Job summary

Turner Job Corps in Albany, GA is seeking a Recreation Aide to supervise and guide trainees in leisure-time activities while supporting water safety and leadership programs.

The role requires an Associates degree or 1 year of experience with youth, flexible weekends/holidays, and a valid GA driver’s license. A drug screen and background check are mandatory, with PSLF-eligible benefits and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Associates of Arts degree or 1 year of related experience working with youth required.
  • Prefer experience in a recreation/non-vocational program.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to include weekends, holidays and/or nights.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • The Recreation Aide organizes and directs trainees in leisure- time recreation/non-vocational activities and leadership programs.
  • Assists in center-sponsored trips and events including escorting and chaperoning. At times, may drive the students on trips/events.
  • Assists with Water Safety programming (videos, swimming certification and swim lessons) and CIS documentation, if applicable.
  • May provide instructions to trainees in various recreational clubs such as sports, poetry, drama, talent shows, etc., and other creative activities, such as arts and crafts.
  • Mentor students in Recreation Aide Program to help establish life skills.

Duties & Responsibilities
