Job description

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Wateree Recreation Area (Outdoor Recreation).

Key Responsibilities

Performs and/or assists other recreation aides/assistants/specialists in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities. Sets up recreational areas for scheduled activities and events. Assists customers in the sales store, selling a limited variety of items, including alcohol. Issues and checks in boats/life vests/recreational equipment; checks condition before issue and after return. Completes required forms, including daily activity reports.

Answers questions concerning activities/uses of the park. Checks visitors to ensure only authorized users are in the park. Monitors park to ensure that visitors are following proper rules/ guidelines for safe/proper use of park and facilities. Contacts appropriate agencies/authorities in emergencies. Performs custodial duties as need. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements & Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
