Job summary

Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in New Haven is seeking a full-time Recreation Aid to enhance residents’ quality of life in our 226-bed facility. You will plan, organize and lead activities ranging from music and crafts to social events.

The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to motivate others. Previous experience with seniors or in healthcare is a plus; you must be self-directed, upbeat and capable of multi-tasking.

• Follow facility policies and state/federal regulations.

Full-time Recreation Aid

Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is actively seeking a Recreation Aid to work full-time for our Skilled Nursing Facility located in New Haven CT. The ideal candidate will have experience in a long-term healthcare setting and excellent customer service skills.

Duties:

• Plans, organizes and leads a wide variety of recreational activities/programs including, but not limited to music, arts, crafts, discussions, parties, social groups, trips, special events and entertainment, active and passive games, sensory type activities, movies, bingo, etc.
• Prepares a monthly calendar of activities that is posted in prominent areas and provided to every resident
• Ensures that all documentation requirements are met
• Develops a system to record resident participation / attendance
• Conducts regular entertainment, parties, seasonal programs and special events
• Ensures that facility is appropriately decorated as per the holiday/season
• Adheres to all facility and policies in accordance to State and Federal regulations

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with Seniors and/or in a healthcare setting a plus.
• Must be very organized and have the ability to lead others.
• Positive, outgoing, upbeat personality is a must.
• Be self-directed; have strong organizational & planning skills; ability to multi-task.
