Reports To: Recovery Technician Supervisor
Schedule: As needed Monday-Sunday
Available Shifts:
- Days: 6am-6:30pm
- Swing: 12pm-8:30pm
- Nights: 6pm-6:30am
Compensation: $17-20 per hour + Shift Differential
Position Summary
The Recovery Technician is responsible for attending to the safety and wellbeing of patients and working with a multidisciplinary treatment team in accordance with policy and procedure. This position provides direct and indirect patient care that complies with Northpoint policies and procedures for unlicensed staff. The Recovery Technician supports the structure of the milieu through appropriate resource allocation and supervision of patients, and works in a variety of settings throughout the week.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to clinical staff
- Follow reporting and communication guidelines when interacting with staff and patients
- Timely completion of paperwork, including daily logs and forms
- Maintain daily schedules and structure, specifically around transport times, meal times, and transition times
- Provide patient observation rounds and consistent monitoring of patient activities and behaviors during scheduled shift
- Attend and promote recreational outings and activities with patients; encourage pro‑social and coping skills
- Ensure the wellbeing of patients and provide a positive, supportive, and structured environment
- Ensure facility cleanliness and upkeep under direction of leadership
- Assist patients with needs and collaborate with onsite clinical and medical staff as necessary
- Facilitate and assist with selected activity and education group sessions; document timely and accurately according to established policies and procedures
- Oversee and manage the safe and efficient transport of patients to and from facilities
- Assist in orientation of new admissions
- Utilize therapeutic communication skills and maintain professional boundaries with patients and families
- Act as a role model for patients and create a positive culture with staff by emulating professional attitude, language, and communication
- Assist with treatment planning and discharge planning
- Document client care and behavior as required in established policies and procedures
- Utilize de‑escalation skills when exposed to volatile clients to maintain personal safety and safety for others
- Assist counseling and administrative staff in responding to emergency situations
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- One year or more of relevant work experience
- Strong English usage, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, and policies of the department
- Ability to maintain personal boundaries and build rapport with patients
- Knowledge of surrounding geographic area for efficient routing
- Organizational and prioritization skills to balance competing demands
- Proficiency in patient rights, safety, and sanitation
