Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 1+ year of relevant work experience.
• Strong English usage and communication skills.
• Ability to implement department programs and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to set and maintain personal boundaries.
• Knowledge of local geographic area for routing.
• Ability to organize and balance competing priorities.
• Adherence to patient rights, safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Interact routinely with patients and report observations to clinical staff.
• Follow reporting and communication guidelines with staff and patients.
• Timely completion of paperwork, daily logs and forms.
• Maintain daily schedules and structure around transport and meals outside programming hours.
• Provide patient observation rounds and continuous monitoring during shifts.
• Promote recreational outings and pro-social coping skills with patients.
• Ensure wellbeing and a positive, structured environment; respond to patient needs.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and upkeep as directed.
• Assist patients with needs and coordinate with onsite staff.
• Facilitate activity and education sessions; document per policy.
• Oversee safe transport of patients to/from facilities.
• Assist with orientation of new admissions.
• Use therapeutic communication and maintain professional boundaries.
• Be a positive role model and promote respectful culture among staff.
• Assist with treatment planning and discharge planning.
• Document client care and behavior per policy.
• Utilize de-escalation skills to ensure safety for all.
