Job summary

Amatus Health in Hagerstown, Maryland is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to support clients in recovery and assist clinical staff in maintaining a safe environment. You will help with intake, transportation, and routine program activities while observing and reporting changes in patient condition.

As a liaison between clients and staff, you will participate in admissions, provide shift reports, and support groups and trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience in mental health field or related coursework.
• Ability to keep patients safe at all times.
• Professional demeanor and reliable work ethic.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain rapport with patients.
• Assist with admissions and orientation.
• Maintain clear communication during client admits.
• Complete shift reports and checklists.
• Facilitate orientation groups.
• De-escalate and assist with AMA/ACA situations.
• Monitor family visits for patient safety.
• Support medication pass supervision as applicable.
• Keep facilities clean and organized.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Exercise professional judgment and seek help as needed.
