Job summary

Amatus Health seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to assist in intake, transportation, and daily program routines. You will observe and report safety or condition changes to medical staff, helping maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients in recovery.

You will help with admissions, orientation, and group sessions, de-escalate challenging situations, and ensure clear communication and proper documentation throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years in mental health field or related coursework preferred.
• Desire and ability to keep patients safe at all times.
• Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
• Valid driver's license.
• CDCA certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain healthy relationships with the patients.
• Assist with admission process and orientation.
• Maintain clear communication during client admits.
• Complete shift reports and checklists timely.
• Facilitate orientation groups with patients.
• De-escalate and assist with AMA/ACA issues.
• Monitor patient locations and track visits.
• Monitor family visits to ensure safety.
• Assist medical staff during medication passes if applicable.
• Keep properties and spaces clean and organized.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Exercise professional judgment and seek help as needed.
• Protect patient privacy per policies and law.
