Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Certified Peer Specialist to support individuals in recovery, building confidence and independence within inpatient and community-based services. You will guide, advocate, and empower clients using compassionate, person-centered approaches in a full-time role with no telework option.

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You must hold an active PCB certification and meet Pennsylvania residency requirements to

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Certified Peer Specialist certification issued by the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB).

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery guidance by helping individuals identify strengths, resolve challenges, and choose steps aligned with recovery goals.
• Teach problem solving, communication, and social skills to support treatment and community life.
• Share perspectives to help staff understand environments that support recovery and assist individuals in expressing needs.
• Observe and document growth, modeling healthy communication, planning, and participation.
• Help individuals access needed services and understand their rights within the mental health system.
