Job summary

American Addiction Centers is seeking a Treatment Advocate to observe daily client activities, assist in recovery, and collaborate with the treatment team. The TA will operate the company vehicle to transport clients and facility visitors, ensuring safety and adherence to policies.

The role involves coordinating daily schedules, providing encouragement, supporting group and individual counseling, and maintaining accurate documentation in line with accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences.
• Valid Driver’s License with insurable driving record.
• Vehicle safety knowledge and control systems.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a behavioral healthcare field preferred.
• Knowledge of using EHR software and documentation preferred.
• Ability to read, write and interpret information; present to groups.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Must work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new patients and orient them to programming schedules and rules.
• Assist with safety rounds, security checks, and patient monitoring.
• Coordinate patient daily schedules including treatment meetings and counseling.
• Provide support and encouragement to patients and families.
• Assist in transporting clients and managing trips as needed.
• Support clinical and nursing services as assigned.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and staff updates.
• Ensure documentation complies with licensure, accreditation, and policy guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Perform miscellaneous errands and extended driving duties as required.
