Job summary

River Valley Behavioral Health is seeking a Recovery Specialist to provide direct care and supervision for adults in a residential substance use treatment setting. You will monitor stability, assist with daily routines, and contribute to a supportive, trauma-informed milieu.

Collaborating with clinicians, nurses, and peer support staff, you will document status changes and communicate effectively while maintaining safety and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience in residential, crisis, healthcare, or direct-care settings preferred.
• Able to observe, document, and communicate client status effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; works well in a team.
• Able to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation.

The Recovery Specialist provides direct care and support services to adults receiving crisis stabilization services in residential substance use treatment. This role focuses on monitoring client safety, physical and mental status, and daily functioning while supporting program operations and maintaining a therapeutic milieu.
