Job summary

The Dimock Center is seeking a Recovery Specialist to support patients in a medical/office setting, balancing direct care with administrative tasks. The role emphasizes compassionate, client-centered care in a 24-hour acute treatment environment.

Shift coverage Friday through Monday (1st, 2nd, and Overnight Shifts) with salary range of $21-$25 per hour, dependent on experience, licensure, and training. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; recovery experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred but not required.
• Significant experience supporting individuals with Substance Use Disorders or similar human services work preferred.
• Recovery experience is a plus.

Our Behavioral Health Services offer residential and outpatient treatment for individuals living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders—programs that often serve as a critical lifeline.

Role Overview

Behavioral Health Specialists are key members of the interdisciplinary team, supporting patients with Substance Use Disorders. You will monitor clients during detox and early recovery, collaborate closely with nursing staff, and help ensure safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care. Responsibilities include admissions, daily operations, and discharge support. Schedules vary and include days, evenings, and weekends.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

24-hour acute treatment setting.

Frequent lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds.

Schedule & Pay

Priority is currently given to second shift and overnight coverage.

The approved salary for this role is $21 - $25/hr.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred but not required
