Transitional Services for New York, Inc. (TSINY) is seeking a Full-Time Peer Counselor for the Supported Housing location in Bellerose, NY. Must have lived experience with mental health services and a Peer Advocate training background to support residents and develop recovery plans.

The role involves counseling, resource navigation, and working as part of a compassionate team to help clients achieve independence and safety within housing programs.

Formación

• HS diploma or equivalent and a Peer Advocate training program graduate.
• Must have lived experience with mental health services.
• Four years total education/experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Identify supportive community resources to assist the individuals in the program.
• Provide recovery readiness services in groups and individual counseling.
• Assist individuals to develop service/housing plan goals aligned with life goals.
• Provide referrals to community-based services.
• Provide mentorship support to individuals living in the program.
• Outreach and engage individuals in program services.
• Be able to sit or stand as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• May require walking on a level surface for short periods throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Disaster Preparedness Plan: adhere to assigned Job Action role(s).
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Graduate of a Peer Advocacy Training Program required.
