Job summary

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC) invites applicants for a field-based outreach position in Harvey, IL. You will engage people who use drugs and those experiencing homelessness, educate communities on overdose prevention, and help connect individuals to treatment options.

The role requires lived recovery experience, high school diploma, and a willingness to work in a drug-free environment; CRSS certification is preferred. Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Lived experience with substance use and stable recovery required.
• Working knowledge of MAT, drug-free recovery programming, and detox processes preferred.
• Familiarity with federal and state confidentiality laws essential.
• CRSS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to people who use drugs and to those experiencing homelessness.
• Educate on overdose prevention and distribute supplies.
• Describe programs and eligibility in layman's terms and aid access to treatment.
• Develop and direct prospective referrals to FGC and other providers.
• Conduct field-based spectrometer testing and log data; interpret results with experts.
• Collaborate with external drug checkers to stay informed on trends.
