Job summary

The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia in Swainsboro, GA seeks a Peer Support Worker to provide recovery support services to individuals in or seeking recovery from substance use disorders. You will connect clients with local recovery resources and collaborate with ARSC and community providers.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, leading peer sessions in afternoons/evenings, and supporting families as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be in long-term recovery from substance use.
• CARES certification within 12 months of employment.
• Valid Georgia driver's license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse communities.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Office products.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery support services to individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders.
• Maintain accurate records and submit ASO documentation as directed.
• Lead peer sessions in afternoon, night, and group formats.
• Connect clients with local recovery resources and providers.
• Support families and allies when appropriate.
• Follow care plans and manage boundaries in relationships.
