Job summary

NOVAPTUS SURGERY CENTRE PTE. LTD. seeks a Recovery nurse to provide critical pre- and post-operative care in our PACU. You will monitor patients, manage wounds, administer medications and support families about patient status.

The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical setting. Shift work including alternate Saturdays and potential overnight shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Nursing (or equivalent).
• Valid SNB certification.
• 2–3 years of experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or medical-surgical settings.
• Willing to work shifts, including alternate Saturdays.
• Open to overnight shifts when required.
• Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Patient, compassionate, and resilient in handling patient care.
• Proactive, adaptable, and cooperative in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and act effectively.
• Willing to learn and pick up new skills

Responsibilities

• Work with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and surgical nurses to prepare patients for surgery.
• Record vital signs, instruct patients on the details of the procedures and administer intravenous therapy and medication.
• Help doctors transfer patients to the operating room, clean wounds, sterilize equipment and ensure patient rooms are ready for arrival.
• Communicate with loved ones and inform them of patients' conditions.
• Monitor vital signs, clean bandages and comfort patients waking from anesthesia.
• Administer tests, analyze lab results and report back to surgeons and doctors.
• Track patients' progress, ensure rest, food, fluids and nutrients.
• Instruct patients on how to care for themselves after discharge.

The Recovery nurse will provide critical care to patients before and after surgery. They will be responsible to clean wounds, administer medication and monitor the progress of the patients' conditions

Job Duties:

Before Surgery

1. Work with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and surgical nurses to prepare patients for surgery.
2. To record vital signs, instruct patients on the details of the procedures and administer intravenous therapy and medication.
3. Help doctors transfer patients to the operating room, and may be asked to clean wounds, sterilize equipment and make sure patients' rooms are ready for their arrival.
4. To communicate with loved ones and inform them of patients' conditions.

After Surgery

1. Monitor their vital signs, clean bandages and comfort patients when they wake up from anesthesia.
2. Administer tests, analyze lab results and report back to surgeons and doctors.
3. Track the progress of patients' conditions, and ensure patients receive adequate rest, food, fluids and nutrients.
4. Teach patients how to clean their bandages, take medication and care for themselves after upon discharge
5. Assist with the tidiness of the recovery suites and recovery area

Job Requirement

• Diploma in Nursing (or equivalent).
• Valid Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) certification.
