Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. in Wichita seeks an RN - Recovery to provide nursing care for post-operative patients in a same day surgery setting, following physician orders and center policies.

You will monitor patients, manage medications, document changes, and assist with discharge planning while maintaining patient privacy and facility standards. The role requires a nursing degree, active RN license, BLS/ACLS, and at least one year of experience in a surgical or recovery environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN license.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience in a surgical or recovery setting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced recovery environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in provision of nursing care to post-operative patients in a same day surgery setting.
• Records and reports symptoms, reactions, abnormalities and changes in patients to appropriate persons.
• Administers medications and treatments ordered by the physicians.
• Cares and discharges post-operative patients according to facility policies.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Maintains supplies and cleanliness in the work environment.
• Performs routine charging of medications and supplies.
• Functions independently in emergency situations.

Education/ Experience

• Assesses, develops and implements total nursing care for post-operative patients
• Records and reports to appropriate persons all symptoms, reactions abnormalities and changes in the physical and/or mental conditions of the post-operative patients

• Cares and discharges post-operative patients according to facility policies
• Able to accurately assess need for pain and /or nausea medication
• An order always precedes the administration of medication
