Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of peer support experience in behavioral health is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• EMR experience is preferred.
• Must complete Workplace Violence Prevention Program within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer-to-peer support, advocacy, and referrals to patients and families.
• Encourage engagement in services and help overcome barriers to treatment.
• Provide resources for basic needs and other wellness barriers (food, housing, transportation).
• Assist patients with setting wellness and recovery goals and coping strategies.
• Help patients and families understand behavioral health issues and recovery steps.
• Maintain documentation for billing and non-billing activities and patient care.
• Ensure patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to support treatment services.
• Model and promote patient satisfaction and participate in unit initiatives.
