Job summary

AltaPointe Health Systems in Mobile, AL seeks a Peer Specialist to support adults in residential services. You will provide social interaction, group and individual activities, and help consumers in recovery-oriented efforts within group homes.

Qualifications

Must be a current or former recipient of mental health services for at least 1 year.
Valid, verifiable driver’s license with good driving record and reliable transportation.
Ability to attend out-of-town Peer Specialist training for certification.
Knowledge of Alabama public mental health system and adult competencies to be attained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Provide social interaction in group and individual settings to help develop social skills and insight.
Promote recovery-oriented skills to help achieve treatment plan goals.
Assist consumers in accessing community resources and advocating for themselves.
Document service provision in a timely, clear, and concise manner per policy.
Attend staff meetings and participate in performance improvement activities.
