Job summary

Morrison Child and Family Services is seeking a Parent Mentor for the Mother (Self Sufficiency Program). This full-time, in-person role supports parents in recovery, bridging to ODHS services and community resources within Clatsop and Tillamook counties.

The position requires lived recovery experience, active involvement in ODHS processes, and a commitment to trauma-informed care as part of our Sanctuary-based approach.

Qualifications

• Personal experience and knowledge of addiction issues.
• Minimum 2 years in active recovery from using alcohol and other drugs.
• Personal experience of a ODHS Child Welfare case, closed for a minimum 1 year required.
• High School Diploma or GED or high school level writing and reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Empower and coach parents through their case with ODHS and attend meetings and hearings.
• Drive parents to appointments and connect to culturally specific resources.
• Develop trusting relationships with child welfare-involved parents and attend court/meetings.
• Build relationships with ODHS and treatment services and represent the program positively.
• Communicate professionally with ODHS staff and support caseworkers to achieve goals.
• Encourage participation in parent groups and OSLC-KEEP sessions training.
• Be aware of Morrison Compliance Program and complete required training.
• Support knowledge of Sanctuary model and organizational policies.
