Job summary

MHMR of Tarrant County is seeking a Mental Health Peer Specialist to deliver recovery-focused services to individuals in MHMR programs, adhering to TAC requirements. You will mentor, advocate, and help clients build coping skills in both group and individual settings.

Responsibilities include developing educational and support groups, assisting clients in accessing community resources, and modeling recovery processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have at least one year of life experience in active recovery and be a recipient of community mental health services within Texas' target population.
• Within one year of hire obtain Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS) certification and maintain certification biannually by completing CEUs provided in Tarrant County.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery-focused services to individuals in MHMR programs, adhering to TAC requirements.
• Offer recovery and wellness support, mentoring, and advocacy in group and individual settings.
• Develop and implement educational, support, and affiliation groups tailored to individual needs and preferences.
• Assist clients in efficiently utilizing community resources and natural supports.
