Job summary

RADIAS Health in Minnesota seeks a Certified Peer Specialist to promote recovery by sharing lived experience, guiding recovery goals, and assisting with benefits access, crisis intervention, and community resources within an interdisciplinary ACT team.

The role includes ongoing training, supervision, and collaboration with Mental Health Professionals to enhance clinical skills while supporting clients in treatment planning and self-determination.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have primary diagnosis of mental illness and be a current or former consumer of mental health services.
• Credentialed as a DHS Certified Peer Specialist.
• Preferred: Hold a Bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences and 2000 hours of experience working with adults with serious mental illness.
• Preferred: knowledge of forensic evidenced-based practices and familiarity with criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and support to validate clients' experiences.
• Have a strong dedication to recovery.
• Provide guidance and encouragement to clients to take responsibility and participate in their own recovery.
• Serve as a mentor to clients to promote hope and empowerment.
• Assist in understanding each client's unique experience and perception.
• Provide expertise and consultation from a mental health consumer perspective to the team.
• Collaborate with the team to promote client self-determination and rights protection.
• Assist in ongoing assessment of clients' mental illness symptoms and treatment response.
• Deliver direct clinical services to clients individually, in groups, and with families.
