Job summary

Advanced Recovery Systems, a national integrated behavioral health company, seeks a PRN Substance Abuse Counselor at its Salem, Oregon facility. You will lead daily group therapy, develop evidence-based curricula, and participate in Master Treatment Plans with the clinical team.

The role requires CADC certification or eligibility, a BA/BS in Behavioral Health preferred, CPR/First Aid, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health Field preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• State SUD certification desirable if education is equivalent to High School or Bachelor’s level.
• CPR-AED and First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and provides daily group therapy to assigned patients following program curriculum.
• Assists in ensuring group attendance and engagement with meaningful content.
• Uses therapeutic interventions to help patients achieve treatment goals and complete plans.
• Assesses patients for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.
• Supports aftercare planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Contributes to discharge planning and maintains documentation per policy.
