Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Joplin, MO is seeking a dedicated Peer Specialist to support individuals on their recovery journey. You will provide peer coaching, share personal recovery experiences appropriately, and connect clients with community resources to foster independence.

You will collaborate with treatment teams, document services in compliance with state regulations, and participate in ongoing trainings to maintain professional standards and confidentiality in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience as a consumer of mental health/substance use services is preferred.
• Ability to complete a state-approved Certified Peer Support training program within six months.
• Must maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships and provide peer support, mentoring, coaching, and encouragement throughout recovery journey.
• Assist individuals in identifying strengths, developing recovery goals, and creating personalized plans.
• Connect clients with community resources, supports, and mutual aid groups to promote wellness.
