Job summary

Behavioral Health Network, Inc (BHN) in Western Massachusetts is seeking a Recovery Coach to mentor adults on their recovery journeys. You will use motivational interviewing and peer support to help build recovery capital and connect clients with healthcare and community supports.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in sustained recovery, and CARC certification or progress toward it. We offer a supportive HEART culture and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of Recovery Coach Academy training or ability to complete within 4 weeks of hire.
  • CARC certification or active pursuit within 1–2 years is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide recovery coaching services to a minimum of 20 individuals.
  • Facilitate goal-setting through SMART goals and wellness planning.
  • Educate on relapse prevention, harm reduction, and recovery strategies.
  • Conduct weekly coaching sessions and at least one in-person meeting monthly.
  • Connect individuals with healthcare, housing, employment, and community supports.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in alignment with agency standards.
  • Engage with the broader recovery community and lead information sessions.

What You’ll Do

As a Recovery Coach, you’ll mentor, guide, and empower adults on their unique recovery journeys. Using motivational interviewing and peer support, you’ll help individuals build recovery capital, develop wellness plans, and connect with healthcare providers, recovery networks, and community supports.


Key Responsibilities Include


  • Provide recovery coaching services to a minimum of 20 individuals

  • Offer education on relapse prevention, harm reduction, and recovery strategies

  • Conduct weekly coaching sessions and at least one in-person meeting monthly

  • Connect individuals with healthcare, housing, employment, and community supports

  • Engage with the broader recovery community and lead information sessions


Who You Are


  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

  • Minimum of 2 years in sustained recovery from addiction (required)

  • Completion of Recovery Coach Academy & Ethical Considerations training (or ability to complete within 4 weeks of hire)

  • Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) or working toward certification within 1–2 years (required)

  • Knowledge of diverse recovery pathways (12-step, peer-based, harm reduction, etc.)

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required)

  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care


Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour, plus monthly incentive bonuses
