Job summary

Center for Human Development (CHD) in Palmer, MA is seeking a Recovery Coach to join the Griswold Center. The role provides direct support to individuals with a history of addiction and substance misuse, helping them develop and follow Recovery Plans.

Candidates must have personal recovery experience, at least two years of sobriety, and completing the Recovery Coach Academy; a vehicle and CORI check are required. CHD offers supervisory support and growth opportunities.

Job description

The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking a Recovery Coach to join our Griswold Center, located in Palmer, MA. The Recovery Coach will provide direct support to individuals who identify as having a history of addiction and substance misuse.

Your role as a Recovery Coach:

Recovery Coaches provide direct supports to individuals who identify as having struggles with addiction and substance misuse. Our Griswold Center program works with individuals to establish and support the person’s Recovery Plan by helping to set short-term goals and motivate the person toward recovery. Develop a helpful, confidential and supportive relationship with people and provide informal guidance, act as a sounding board, and build peoples’ confidence and hope.

REQUIRMENTS:

• Candidate who identifies as being in recovery from a substance use disorder and is willing to share
  details of his or her personal recovery experience.
• Minimum two years of sustained sobriety.
• Knowledge of the needs, concerns and goals of individuals who struggle with addiction.
• Completion of the Recovery Coach Academy and computer skills preferred but not mandatory.
• Reliable, registered & insured vehicle and approved driving record check.
• Approved criminal background check (CORI).

Reliability and able to learn about and observe rules of confidentiality and boundaries. We offer supervisory support, regular team gatherings, and ongoing training for professional growth. • Pay range is starting at a minimum of $20.00/hr. with consideration for experience and training, along with a
