Job summary

Magnolia Creek Treatment Center in Columbiana, AL, seeks a Recovery Care Specialist to help manage daily treatment activities and provide emotional support to clients. You will work under supervision to maintain client privacy, document progress, and participate in nutrition-related tasks.

The role includes daily meals with clients to model healthy behaviors and requires at least 1 year of related experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Position requires 1+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience with eating disorders is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages the daily milieu at Magnolia Creek Treatment Center, assisting with program activities, observations, charting progress.
• Maintains privacy and confidentiality requirements and regulations.
• Familiarizes with client histories and identifies cues of status changes.
• Provides emotional support to clients under supervision.
• Spends one-on-one time with clients during activities and leisure time.
• Communicates pertinent information to Clinical Director and treatment team.
• Maintains proper and timely documentation of client progress.
• Eats meals with clients during day and evening shifts to model healthy foods and body image behaviors.
• Assists with meal planning, shopping, and supervision of nutrition and exercise activities.
• Demonstrates proper food safety and handling standards when serving meals.
• Assists with housekeeping duties and errands as assigned.
• Offers tours for clients/families/students and others as requested.

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred
