Job summary

State of South Carolina seeks a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) / Client Advocate I to assist individuals and families in navigating care and achieving long-term wellness. This essential role operates at the Rock Hill site and surrounding communities, delivering mentoring, recovery coaching, and peer-led groups.

The candidate must demonstrate two years of sustained recovery, complete 100 hours of peer-support service, and possess a high school diploma or higher.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Two years of sustained recovery without relapse required.
• 100 hours of supervised peer-support work (paid or voluntary) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care hours annually ensuring LOC and prior authorizations; offer individual/group peer support.
• Document services per state/federal guidelines and CARF standards.
• Coordinate with treatment teams, ensure continuity of care and recovery promotion.
• Deliver peer support in center locations and the community; conduct ongoing outreach and follow-up.
