Job summary

Lactalis American Group in Idaho is hiring a Recook Operator I to rework cheese that wasn’t packaged and feed it into the shredder for processing through the DMC system.

The role requires standing for long shifts, lifting up to 40 lb, and adhering to SOPs and food safety standards. You will help maintain quality, participate in audits, and contribute to production efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb and stand for long shifts.
• Familiarity with ISO22000, HACCP and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Meet efficiency budgets while ensuring high-quality product.
• Operate shredder to shred cheese efficiently.
• Monitor shredding speed and quality.
• Follow SOPs for reworking/recorking cheese and food-safety compliance.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Maintain production records of reworked material and quality issues.
• Collaborate to optimize production and reduce downtime.
• Take corrective action for nonconforming product.
• Support audits and ISO/HACCP compliance.

Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Recook Operator I based in Nampa, . The Recook Operator plays a crucial role in our production process by reworking or recooking cheese that wasn't packaged. This position involves transferring cheese from totes into a shredder for shredding and subsequent processing through the DMC (Dynamic Moisture Control) system

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Meet efficiency budget levels with maintaining a high-quality product.


• Operate shredder machinery to shred cheese efficiently and effectively.


• Monitor the shredding process to maintain optimal speed and quality standards.


• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for reworking/recorking cheese, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.


• Communicate any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel for timely resolution.


• Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities reworked/recorked and any quality issues encountered


• Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime.


• Take immediate corrective action for any product that does not meet quality or product specifications.


• Contribute to continual process improvement and increased performance.


• Participate in internal/external audits and maintain ISO22000/ISO9001/HACCP compliance.

Education

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree preferred.

Experience

• Previous employment in a food industry/manufacturing setting is preferred.


• Basic understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.


• Frequently required to lift up to 40 LB.


• Must be able to stand for the entire shift with repetitive bending, twisting, gripping, lifting, and reaching.
