Job Description:
The Reconstruction Estimator assesses property damage and prepares accurate cost estimates for restoration projects. Responsibilities include site inspections, estimate preparation, documentation management, and coordination with adjusters and project teams. The role ensures compliance with building codes and supports supplements and change orders as needed.
Responsibilities:
Conducts thorough inspections of newly assigned leads.
Engages in proactive and strategic client interactions to effectively promote and secure job opportunities.
Utilizes DASH platform to meticulously update and organize supporting documentation for estimates, including photos and sketches.
Prepares comprehensive estimates for submission to the Director and ensures peer review processes are adhered to.
Submits estimates to adjusters for thorough carrier review, maintaining a commitment to accuracy and transparency.
Updates DASH system with submitted estimate details, providing clear notes and tags for seamless accounting integration.
Establishes and maintains regular communication with adjusters through weekly phone and email interactions, addressing any inquiries related to estimate review and approval.
Actively participates in weekly sales meetings with the Director, contributing valuable insights and updates.
Records approved estimate amounts accurately in DASH and applies relevant tags for streamlined accounting procedures.
Uploads approved estimates and associated documents meticulously into the DASH platform.
Collaborates with Project Managers to review and address supplement requests.
Prepares and submits supplemental estimates in alignment with project requirements.
Follows up with carriers to ensure timely approval of supplemental estimates.
Engages in meetings with Project Managers to discuss and manage change orders effectively.
Prepares detailed estimates for change orders, maintaining precision and consistency in the estimation process.
Building Codes and Regulations: Stay updated with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to ensure that reconstruction work complies with all legal requirements.
Qualifications:
Applicable experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Proven experience in property inspections and reconstruction estimation in the restoration industry, with experience in Mitigation considered a plus.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
Familiarity with Xactimate estimation software and tools.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations and meet tight deadlines.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Physical Requirements:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Ability to work outdoors, in extreme temperatures, wet/humid environments, and/or with vibration
Working with mechanical and chemical hazards and conditions including fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and/or poor ventilation
Ability to climb, talk, crouch, stand, balance, reach, grasp, pull, lift, see, hear, and operate tools and vehicles
