Job summary

Timken is seeking a Reconditioning Assembly Technician in Mascot, TN to set up and operate assembly equipment for reconditioning bearings, apply labeling, and package products per customer requirements. You will inspect components using measurement tools to ensure conformance, document results, and maintain equipment and workstations.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and participation in process improvements.

Qualifications

• Proficient in math and reading; able to interpret measurements and instructions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Must complete training program and applicable qualification requirements; probationary period observed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble reconditioned bearings using assembly equipment and component installation.
• Apply labeling and package product per customer requirements.
• Inspect components for conformance using bench gauges and built-in gauges.
• Follow standard procedures for machine setup, process verification and documentation.
• Perform preventative maintenance to prevent downtime and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Coach and train new associates to foster a team environment.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and comply with safety rules.
• Document and communicate manufacturing performance issues to minimize downtime.
