Job summary

DC Army National Guard in the United States seeks Cavalry Scout to serve as eyes and ears of the armored division, performing reconnaissance and reporting vital information to the commanding officer.

Duties include securing ammunition on scout vehicles, operating weapons, navigating in combat, and gathering data on terrain, weather, and enemy dispositions; training takes place primarily in the field with drill-based instruction.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.

Responsibilities

• Act as the eyes and ears of the armored division through reconnaissance.
• Report vital information to the commanding officer for informed decisions.
• Secure and prepare ammunition on scout vehicles and operate weapons.
• Perform navigation during combat and participate in observation/listening posts.
• Gather data to classify routes, tunnels, bridges; apply concealment and camouflage.
