DC Army National Guard is seeking Cavalry Scouts to serve as the eyes and ears of the armored division, moving ahead to gather reconnaissance and report critical information for decision-making. You may secure and prepare ammunition, operate weapons, and navigate during combat while staying prepared for ongoing training.

Through field operations and training, you will develop leadership, discipline, and resilience, with opportunities to learn skills that translate to civilian roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide reconnaissance ahead of the division and report vital information to the commanding officer.
• Secure and prepare ammunition on scout vehicles and operate weapons.
• Perform navigation during combat and serve as a member of observation posts.
• Gather and report information on terrain, weather, enemy disposition and equipment.
• Classify routes, tunnels and bridges and employ concealment and camouflage.
