Roles & Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair problems with engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and similar systems.
  • Test systems and components to ensure they are secure and functioning properly.
  • Drive vehicles for testing purposes or use diagnostic equipment, including hand-held and onboard compression gauges and diagnostic computers.
  • Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
  • Follow checklists to examine each critical part of the vehicle.
  • Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other potential trouble spots closely.
  • Use power tools like pneumatic wrenches for quick and easy bolt removal.
  • Utilize machine tools such as grinding machines and lathes to rebuild brakes.
  • Work with hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers on small-scale parts.
  • Prepare vehicle damage repair estimates.
